Delaware telecom deregulationA new law in Delaware (effective June 26, 2013) reduces the Public Service Commission’s jurisdiction over telecommunications service providers that did not elect deregulation in 2008. Among other things, the new law prohibits the PSC from requiring non-electing providers to file tariffs for services other than switched access.

Some of the issues addressed in this law include: Rate Regulation and Complaints; Tariffs (telecom service providers may not be subject to mandatory tariff or other filing requirements except with respect to switched access service); Abandonment of Service; Change of Control; Extension of Facilities; Changes to Regulatory Assessments; Electing Carriers; and IP Enabled service.
