TELECOM
FCC
The FCC is seeking to refresh the record in its rulemaking considering the adoption of additional rules against cramming. It is asking for additional comment on the impact of recently implemented industry efforts to combat slamming and certain newly released studies. Comments will be due 45 days after publication of the Notice in the Federal Register.
Montana
The PSC adopted mandatory thousand-block number pooling in the 406 NPA. The mandatory pooling will apply in rate centers that have multiple carriers with numbering resources. Thousand-block number pooling will be optional in the single carrier rate centers. However, once a second carrier receives numbering resources in a single carrier rate center, thousand-block number pooling will become mandatory for that rate center. All service providers required to participate in thousands-block number pooling must comply with the PSC’s Order by February 22, 2014.
Utah
The PSC directed all eligible telecommunications carriers (ETCs) with customers that receive the Utah Lifeline discount to provide a list of the Lifeline customers they serve in Utah. The information must be provided to the Division of Public Utilities by September 6, 2013, and must be in the specified format. Any Federal-only ETC desiring to have its customer list checked against the DWS automatically qualifying program list may submit a customer list in the required format by the same date. Interested parties are invited to file comments on options for on-going program administration by September 23, 2013.
