regulatory monitoring in the Regulatory MixThe Regulatory Mix, TMI’s daily blog of regulatory activities, is a snapshot of PUC, FCC, legislative, and occasionally court, issues that our regulatory monitoring team uncovers each day. Depending on their significance, some items may be the subject of a TMI Regulatory Bulletin.

Arizona

Competitive carriers Eschelon Telecom of Arizona, Inc.; Mountain Telecommunications, Inc.; and Electric Lightwave, LLC, all doing business as Integra Telecom, have withdrawn their objections to CenturtyLink’s request to designate the following wire centers as Tier 1 wire centers non-impaired for DS1, DS3 Transport and Dark Fiber: Mesa Main (MESAAZMA), Superstition West (SPRSAZWE) and Tucson Main (TCSNAZMA). Integra said it received the verification information it had been waiting for with respect to the Superstition West wire center and that the response verified the four fiber-based collocators needed to change the classification of the Superstition West wire center from Tier 1 to Tier 2. Accordingly, it withdrew its previous objections. See the Regulatory Mix posted 10/16/13.

In response, CenturyLink requested that the Commission enter an order approving its 2013 additions to the non-impaired wire center list.
