CenturyLink Wire Centers
State commissions continue to approve CenturyLink’s request to update its list of non-impaired wire centers. The latest actions were:
- The Arizona Corporation Commission approved CenturyLink’s request to change the designation of the Scottsdale Main wire center from a Tier 2 wire center to a Tier 1 wire center. The Order was effective September 15, 2014.
- The Colorado Public Utilities Commission approved CenturyLink’s petition to reclassify both the Aurora Main and Denver South wire centers as Tier 1 non-impaired wire centers. The reclassification was approved on September 17, 2014.
- The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission approved CenturyLink’s request to reclassify the Blaine wire center from a Tier 3 to a Tier 2 wire center. The wire center is now designated as a Tier 2 wire center non-impaired for DS 3 transport and Dark Fiber.

District of Columbia
The PSC’s said that it needs an additional 30 days to consider the Office of the People’s Counsel’s (OPC) Notice of Agency Fund Requirements (NOAFR filed in the rulemaking proceeding regarding rules governing local exchange carrier quality of service standards for the District The PSC extended the time to respond to two of the OPC’s NOAFR filed on September 4, 2014, as well as Oppositions filed by Starpower Communications, LLC and Windstream Communications, Inc. on September 10, 2014. The PSC said that it needs the additional time to consider OPC’s NOAFRs because of the unique issues presented.
