The Regulatory Mix

The Regulatory Mix, TMI’s daily blog of regulatory activities, is a snapshot of PUC, FCC, legislative, and occasionally court, issues that our regulatory monitoring team uncovers each day. Depending on their significance, some items may be the subject of a TMI Regulatory Bulletin.

California/FCC — The PUC will consider a Staff recommendation to file comments in response to the Federal Communications Commission’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in which the FCC proposes a set of regulations intended to ensure that the Internet remains open. (FCC GN Docket No. 14-28) The FCC seeks comment on the very broad question of “[w]hat is the right public policy to ensure that the Internet remains open?” PUC Staff addresses the FCC proposal to enhance its transparency rule, and to attempt for a third time to adopt rules against blocking and discrimination. PUC Staff said that the FCC also asks for comment on its statutory authority to adopt the proposed rules. Click here for PUC Staff comments.

The PSC  approved AT&T’s request to reclassify its Marietta Main Wire Center as non-impaired for DS1 and DS3 loops. Parties may now present their positions on whether the PSC should consider a true-up of any revenues lost due to the delay in implementation of the re-classification.
