Tennessee

Tennessee enacted the 911 Funding Modernization and IP Transition Act of 2014 earlier this year. TMI Regulatory Bulletin Service subscribers see Bulletin dated 8/14/14. Therefore, beginning January 1, 2015, the 911 surcharge will be set at a uniform statewide monthly rate and will be collected with the monthly charge for communications service or prepaid communications service to a service user. Communications services priced below $5.00 per month or prepaid communications services priced below $10.00 are exempt from the surcharge. The Tennessee Emergency Communications Board will post remittance and annual accounting forms on its website prior to January 1, 2015.

Minnesota

The PUC revised its order requiring IXCs to report all call completion complaints they receive on a quarterly basis for a year. The revisions clarify the information to be reported and set forth specific reporting time frames. Reports will be due 30 days following the completion of the quarter, with the first quarter covering January 1, 2015, through March 31, 2015. TMI Regulatory Bulletin Service subscribers see Bulletin dated 11/3/14.
