FCC
The FCC has extended the time for filing comment and reply comments on its Eleventh Broadband Progress Notice of Inquiry. See the Regulatory Mix dated 8/7/15. Comments are now due September 15, 2015; reply comments are due September 30, 2015. The dates had been September 8, 2015, and September 23, 2015, respectively. The FCC extended the comment periods on its own motion to ensure that members of the public have sufficient time to respond to the issues raised in the Notice.
Texas
The PUC readopted, without change, all of the “Substantive Rules Applicable To Telecommunications Service Providers” contained in Chapter 26 of its rules. All 16 subchapters of the rules were subject to review. The readopted rules address areas such as billing and customer protection, customer migrations, business and marketing codes of conduct, excessive access charge rates, interconnection, operator services, pay telephone service, and the Texas USF. Utah
The PSC approved the petition of Qwest Corporation d/b/a CenturyLink QC to revise the non-impairment status of its American Fork, Kaysville, and Salt Lake East wire centers. The American Fork and Salt Lake East wire centers were re-classified as a Tier 1 wire centers; the Kaysville wire center was re-classified as a Tier 2 wire center.
