Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission has directed all Eligible Telecommunications Carriers (ETCs) to provide their Lifeline customers with notice of the changes in federal Lifeline support that will be received based upon the FCC’s new interpretation of Tribal Land in Oklahoma. TMI Briefing Service subscribers see Briefing dated 3/29/16.

 

Utah

Governor Gary Herbert has signed into law a bill that allows a government entity to collect anonymous electronic data, but prohibits the use of the collected data in a judicial proceeding.  HB 369 includes language that permits a government entity to collect and utilize electronic data, “as long as it is obtained in a manner that, prior to receipt by a government entity, maintains the anonymity of the information.”

 

Canada

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) is announcing a public consultation on next-generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) emergency services.
