The FCC released a Report and Order establishing the second round of the COVID-19 Telehealth Program (the Program).  The Program, established as part of the CARES Act, initially received $200 million in funding.  Round 2 is a $249.5 million initiative that will extend support to eligible health care providers.  The Report and Order provides a way to rate applications that takes into consideration objective factors about the health care provider and the area it serves. Round 2 will also distribute funding to each state, territory, and the District of Columbia and will have an application filing window so all applicants are on equal footing during the application review.

A Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) released by the FCC on January 15, 2021 seeking input on the 12.2-12.7 GHz band set deadlines for filing comments and reply comments of April 7, 2021, and May 7, 2021, respectively.  A number of stakeholders urged a 30-day extension of these deadlines given the significance and complexity of the issues.  Accordingly, the FCC released an order that pushed back the deadlines such that comments are now due May 7, 2021 and reply comments June 7, 2021.
