FCC Terminates China Telecom Authority

Citing national security concerns, the FCC released an Order on Revocation and Termination revoking China Telecom (Americas) Corporation’s ability to provide domestic interstate and international telecommunications services within the United States.  The Order directs China Telecom Americas to discontinue any domestic or international services that it provides pursuant to its section 214 authority within sixty days following the November 2 release of the order.

The Regulatory Mix, Inteserra’s blog of telecom related regulatory activities, is a snapshot of PUC, FCC, legislative, and occasionally court issues that our regulatory monitoring team uncovers each day. Depending on their significance, some items may be the subject of an Inteserra Briefing.
