The four bipartisan leaders of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee sent a letter to U.S. Department of Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chairman Joseph Simons urging them to work with their European counterparts to quickly issue interim guidance to protect consumers and help businesses following the recent decision by the European Court of Justice (ECJ) that overturned the European Union (EU)-United States (U.S.) Privacy Shield Framework.

The FCC announced that, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and related agency telework and headquarters access policies, its March 31, 2020, Open Meeting will be in a wholly electronic format and will be open to the public on the Internet via live feed from the FCC’s web page at www.fcc.gov/live and on the FCC’s YouTube channel. Because of these special circumstances, the items on the agenda (see below) are expected to be voted on circulation prior to the meeting.

The USDA announced a $23.6 million investment in high-speed broadband infrastructure in Utah. This investment will build an all-fiber network that will serve more than 3,000 farms, businesses and homes spread over more than 400 square miles in rural Duchesne and Uintah counties.
